Heat Wave

To say it's been hot this week would be a gross understatement. We're MELLLLTING! The key to survival has been all about getting the kids out in the slightly cooler evening air. The more tuckered they are by the time their naked little bodies (okay, diapered little bodies) hit the sheets, the less the heat disrupts their sleep. Then it's just me that tosses and turns all night wondering if they're too uncomfortable. Well, Matt too. But only because I keep waking him up to ask him if he thinks they're too uncomfortable. Sorry 'bout that, Matt. :)
Anyways, one of these evening adventures took us to another of our local lakes for a walk, some exploring, and some snaps of a cute little boy in very short pants. Here he is hiking them up just a little bit higher.

Wouldn't want to trip on a cuff. I just know that one day he's going to see these photos and say "Mom! What did you make me WEAR?!" Hee hee.....
But wait. The cuteness factor goes off the charts with this next one! Wearing the short pants while picking a 'bouquet' in a field of buttercups....

Awwww. Little boys aren't ALL snips and snails.....

But for all his serious looks, there was still plenty of goofballing going on....

Watching some basketball.....

Searching for the best rocks....

....and storing them in Dad's pockets for safekeeping!

An astronomy lesson. (According to Professor Liam, the moon is merely a 'bubble' he can't quite reach).

A dip for Mojo....

Liam's first popsicle from an Ice Cream Truck...

And the most important thing I learned from this experience: blue popsicle dye stains skin on contact. Oh yes, it does.
