It's been a looooong, s'more-less winter for this little boy. And finally, we were back around the campfire this weekend. He waited ever so patiently all afternoon....
And finally....S'more Time....
Ah, Summer. We have missed you.

Spring Things
A few signs that Spring is in full swing around here....
There are vases full of fresh dandelions in the house every day. Good thing, because dandelions last about 8 gigaseconds before they wilt. Gross, but I'll never tire of the kids' proud faces as they present me with a huge "bouquet"!
Ourfarm balcony garden is thriving thanks to some very attentive watering by Liam and Sarah. They are often outside watering before breakfast (hence, the pj's!).
He even waters himself now and then.
We're especially excited for the peas to be ready. The kids love them (don't tell Liam they're the same as the ones he hates at dinner time!)....and they can even open the shells themselves this year!
We're lingering a lot longer at the playground when school gets out. Sarah has mastered the monkey bars....
And Liam has mastered writing his name in chalk.....
Our fence is also getting a fresh coat of rainbow chalk.
Now...bring on the camping!!!

Cheerleaders
They may not look like it here, but my two little monkeys were hanging off Matt's back and shoulders blowing me kisses and cheering "Go Mommy!" as I ran to the finish line of my first half marathon on Sunday.
They're a patient crew, putting up with my training schedule and hauling themselves all over town (and beyond!) at indecent hours, just to cheer me on. Thanks, guys. In Sarah's words: "You the best!"

Zzzzzzz
Sarah is a great car napper. But it's been a long while (a very long while) since she has had a nap in the house. So we were surprised last weekend when Matt transferred her from car to couch, hoping for a less jarring awakening...and she stayed there for almost an hour! I wanted to take off her shoes, but she just looked so peaceful.
The secret? We had been at Matt's hockey game and Sarah and Liam spent 90 minutes running laps and chasing each other around the bleachers. I was tired just watching them. Apparently it had a similar effect on her!

Going Postal
I sent him upstairs for socks so we could take a walk to the Post Office. The rest of the accessories were all his idea.
As we were walking he told me "Mommy, people are going to think that I am going to work, since I am wearing a tie. But I'm not really. Isn't that a funny joke?!" 4 year olds are hilarious...at least by their own standards!
After the letter was mailed, he asked me to hold his tie. Then he got back to the business of being a little boy....

Send in the Clowns
I had visions of the kids drawing kitty cat whiskers, or maybe something Superhero-y. But when I turned them loose with face painting crayons they had other ideas. They went straight to work on their blank canvases...
All done!
But seriously....

EB Wuz Here
We had ourselves a good ol' jelly bean free for all here on Sunday morning, courtesy of the Easter Bunny. The kids had almost free reign on the treats for the day, but were completely cut off on Monday. It's now Wednesday night and...
a) they have only asked for an Easter candy from their stash once. And I said NO.
and...
b) they are still coming down from Sunday's high. It's been ugly.

Chocolate for breakfast...

Note the veins bulging in his neck. This is one happy / intense boy!

Here I got shushed while Liam and his buddy traded Easter Bunny secrets.
Good times....but I'm sure glad Easter only comes around once a year!
